Johnathan Golden Seeks NCAA High Jump Title

Des Moines, Iowa - Junior Johnathan Golden is seeded 27th among 29 high jumpers who will compete for the NCAA Championship beginning at 6:15 p.m. CDT Wednesday night at Drake Stadium, weather permitting.

Golden (Azusa / Azusa HS) is seeded at 2.13 meters or about 7 feet. The top-seeded competitor is Dusty Jonas of Nebraska at 2.36 meters or about 7 feet, 9 inches. The opening height will be 2.05 meters or about 6 feet, 9 inches.

Teammate Garrett Myers (Riverside / Santiago HS) is competing in the triple jump. That event begins on Friday. Golden and Myers are among 544 participants in the meet hosted by Drake University.
