Atkinson, Murphy Eliminated in St. Louis

St. Louis, MO - Morgan Atkinson and Ian Murphy each lost his third match of the 2008 NCAA Wrestling Championships and both Cal State Fullerton wrestlers were eliminated from the competition Friday morning. Atkinson lost to Boise State's Adam Hall, 11-3, while Murphy lost to No. 12-seeded Jack Jensen of Oklahoma State, 10-4. Atkinson finished the season with an overall record of 34-7 while Murphy, who recorded a pin for his lone victory in St. Louis, ended up 27-9. T. J. Dillashaw at 133 and John Drake at 197 each went 0-2.
Iowa won the team championship. The Titans tied for 44th place with Air Force. |
