CAL STATE FULLERTON
JANUARY 2006: Played for assistant coach Demian Brown on the Cal-South Women's Soccer State Select Team that won the national championship at the 2006 George F. Donnelly Cup in Tampa, Fla. The team, made up of players from local Southern California universities, posted a perfect 4-0 record in regional play and outscored teams from Massachusetts (6-0), Illinois (1-0), and Tennessee (1-0) by a combined 8-0 score to win the national championship.

2005 (JUNIOR): One of six players to start all 23 matches... earned All-Big West First-Team honors for the first time in her career... led the team in scoring with nine goals and four assists (22 points)... finished second on the team with 55 shots and led all Titans with four game-winning goals... earned Big West Tournament MVP honors after scoring three times - including twice against UC Riverside in the championship match - in helping Fullerton to the title... had the game-winner in the Titans' 1-0 win to open the Big West Tournament... also had goals against Utah, Hawaii, Cal Poly, UC Davis, Long Beach State and USC in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

2004 (SOPHOMORE): One of three players (Kellie Cox and Ashley O'Brien) to start all 20 matches... tied for sixth on the team in scoring... scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Cal Poly... assisted on two more goals in wins over Utah State and Idaho... took a season-high three shots against UC Riverside.

2003 (FRESHMAN): Had a solid start to her collegiate career with the Titans, earning All-Big West Honorable Mention honors... one of only two players (Laura Janke) to start all 19 matches... ranked third on the team in scoring with eight points... scored her first career goal against Long Beach State and added another against UC Irvine in the season finale... notched her first career point with an assist in a 2-0 win over Akron... had a pair of assists in the win over Boise State.

TROY HS
Played four years of varsity soccer for Troy HS... scholar-athlete all four years... earned first-team All-Freeway League honors from her sophomore to senior seasons... third-team All-CIF Division III as a junior and first-team honors as a senior... Freeway League Most Valuable Defensive Player as a junior... earned Freeway League Player of the Year honors as a senior and was named the team's Offensive Player of the Year with 14 goals and 14 assists... helped lead the Warriors to a 21-1-1 overall record and a 10-0 league mark as a senior.

Born October 19, 1985, in La Mirada, Calif... Parents are Kirk and Taryn Welch... One of four children, but the only girl, joining brothers Ryan, Taylor, and Braydon... a kinesiology major at Cal State Fullerton... selected the 2005 Big West Scholar-Athlete of the Year... also considered Biola, Masters College, Azusa Pacific, Mississippi and Seattle Pacific before selecting Cal State Fullerton... scholar-athlete all four years in high school with a GPA of 3.2 or above... selected Cal State Fullerton because she "wanted to contribute to winning a national championship under a good coach while obtaining a good education close to home."
